Hawthorne Bridge
This landmark bridge crossing the Willamette River was constructed in 1911 and is the oldest operating lift-span bridge in the United States.
For complete rehabilitation of the steel bridge, we provided dimensional control and 3D measurements for prefabrication of new and replacement components. Bridge closure was limited to a one-year period, and construction techniques provided environmental protection for the Willamette River.
Project Services:
- Measurements and dimensioning for prefabrication of new steel decking
- Measurements for prefabrication of new stringers
- Measurements for prefabrication and attachment of floor beam extensions to support a wider sidewalk
- Layout for new anchor bolts on piers to support tower
- Dimensional measurements for counterweight cable replacement
