Boundary/Design Topographic Surveys
For public and private development projects, the surveyor is charged with the task of providing data for site evaluation, planning, and design. We research survey records and collect data in the field to show site features. Then we compile and map data for contours, trees, other natural features such as rock out-crops and wetland/sensitive land boundaries, and existing improvements. On request, we help the design engineers better understand site topography by providing cross-sections and profiles.
For site or roadway expansion projects, it is critical to map existing improvements within right of way and property lines. Locations of building projections, over-head improvements, private utilities, and underground public utilities are critical to many design projects. Typically we extend the limits of our surveys to help engineers confirm infrastructure and roadway connections.
