Comprehensive 3D Services
Westlake uses a variety of technologies to meet our clients’ needs for on-site 3D measurements, dimensions, analysis, mapping, modeling, and layout.

3D Scan offers detailed, remote data collection that is visual and can be used for dimensioning, site analysis, mapping, and modeling. Our FARO Photon scanner provides data of such realism, that the raw scan data looks like a black and white photograph. |
By combining techniques we take advantage of the strengths of each.
-
3D laser scanning is used for extensive data collection with a “hands-off” approach.
-
Our Industrial Measurement Division provides discrete point 3D measurements with +/- 1 mm tolerance to enhance the reliability of scan data, for dimensioning, complex shape analysis, and layout.
For each project, we work strategically with our clients to:
- Establish the project objectives and tolerances
- Define the appropriate geometry of a structure or component
- Outline immediate deliverables and longer term objectives
- Establish a dependable control network to geo-reference our measurements or tie them to a local grid/network
- Understand the proposed construction process
- Identify the critical components or points to be measured and how these points are to be related to one another
- Complete the on-site work to provide the necessary data, dimensions, and drawings

Our Industrial Measurement Division provides discrete point 3D coordinates to a very tight tolerance (+/-1 mm in most instances) for real-time field analysis, monitoring, control, as-builting, 3D layout/verification, and assembly support. |
