On-site, we position the scanner strategically to capture data from different perspectives.
From the scanner, a laser beam is sent out and reflected back, 1000 times every second. (The laser beam is not harmful.)
The 3D coordinates of each point are captured by the on-board computer. We monitor the data collection in real time to make sure we capture the necessary data.
The Scan Data
We complete as many scans as necessary to cover the project area and meet our client's objectives. The completed scan worlds are “registered” or combined to create a single point cloud that is truly 3D.

Each scan world is a 40 degree x 40 degree window. A visual, raw data point cloud is generated for each scan world. |
The scan worlds are merged to form a single point cloud. Overlapping site features are used to combine the data sets. |
Deliverables
Using the coordinate values of the scan data, we prepare 2D and 3D survey drawings, calculate dimensions, and prepare models of surfaces and structures.
